Dr. Michael Seibert comes to Franciscan University as an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering. He spent the previous 17 years as a civilian Research Engineer with the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command C5ISR Center where his research focused on power generation and thermal management. He earned his B.S. (summa cum laude) and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University and his Ph.D. from The Catholic University of America.

His research interests span thermal management, energy efficiency, combustion, pollution reduction and experimental validation of numerical models.

As a father of six homeschooled children, he has an interest in education of the whole person and bringing that to engineering. In his free time he enjoys soccer, biking, hiking, and generally being outside with his wife and children.
