Overview
Dr. Brown grew up in south-central PA (20 minutes south of Hershey) and completed his undergraduate studies in Math, Computer Science, and Psychology (minor) at PSU Harrisburg. During the next five years, he worked toward his PhD in Mathematics at Iowa State University, ultimately graduating in the summer of 2019.
His research interests pertain mostly to Computability Theory and Logic—more precisely, a field called Computable Analysis, which attempts to determine, at the most basic level, what computers can and cannot do with objects and operations found in Analysis (think "super-duper Calculus").
Most of his time is spent developing ways to help educators and entrepreneurs build and run world-class courses that their students love.
His hobbies include the love of all things that grow, evolve, or come into being from a simple idea or something seemingly insignificant. As such, he loves plants, gardening, and bonsai cultivation. He also has interests in woodworking, pottery, and trail running in his free time. In everything going on in his life, each day he seeks to honor the Lord and always look forward to seeing how He uses him to help build His Kingdom.
Dr. Brown lives with his wife, Jess, his son, Jacob, and five cats in the outskirts of Steubenville, OH.
