Dcn. Stephen Frezza is a Professor of Software Engineering and director of the Software Engineering program at Franciscan University of Steubenville. He comes to Franciscan with 26 years at Gannon University where he was a professor of Software Engineering and chair of the Computer and Information Science Department three times. He brings with him a breadth of teaching experience in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, and Software Engineering courses.

Dcn. Frezza earned his Ph.D., M.S., and a B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. As a Professional Software Engineering Master (PSEM), he remains actively involved in developing practical industry-university projects and partnerships. He teaches a variety of software engineering topics, primarily in the area of requirements engineering, project management, software testing and embedded systems.

His research interests are in the areas of philosophy of engineering, affective-domain assessment, competency modeling and assessment, software engineering education, and the relationship between engineering and theology.

Dcn. Dr. Frezza is a senior member of the IEEE Computer Society (IEEE-CS) and volunteer for the Special Technical Committee (STC) on Education, and a professional member and volunteer of the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE).
