Dr. Thomas Webb is a Faculty Fellow of Practice in Mechanical Engineering.  He comes from a 25-year career as an engineer and manager of materials research for nuclear core and plant designs for the U.S. Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program at the Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory in the greater Pittsburgh, PA area.  He earned his BS, MS, and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University.

His expertise and interests span continuum mechanics, advanced mechanics of deformable solids, linear and nonlinear finite element methods for deformable solids, fracture mechanics, and the mechanical deformation and cracking behavior of materials.
